* Iberia - Montevideo (MVD) - Madrid (MAD) increasing 3x to 5x Weekly - eff 03Feb16
Iberia recently increased its nonstop service between these two cities and now operates this route using its new A330-200's.
The Spanish airline flew the route several years ago only to cancel the service in 2013 which was replaced soon thereafter by Air Europa. The Paraguayan affiliate of Amaszonas Bolivia started service between the Uruguayan and Paraguayan capitals in March using CRJ-200's on a 3x/weekly basis. Subsequent to this new service, the Amaszonas Group took the remains of BQB Lineas Aereas that it acquired in 2015 and used them to formally establish Amaszonas Uruguay, which currently also flies the Montevideo (MVD) - Asuncion (ASU) route 7x/weekly, complementing Amaszonas Paraguay's service for a total of 10x/weekly flights on the route by airlines from the group.
Gol recently started 1x/weekly service on Saturdays between the Uruguayan capital and the northeastern Brazilian city of Recife using 737-800's.
