Commercial airline service at Buenos Aires Aeroparque (AEP) was suspended on 20Mar20 as part of a national "quarantine" where all scheduled flights to/from and within Argentina were cancelled in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. The suspension of airline flights at AEP was followed by a complete closure of the facility in August 2020 for the airport's runway to be completely rebuilt, including a widening from 40m to 60m (131 ft. to 197 ft.) and lengthening from 2,100m to 2,715m (6,900 ft. to 8,900 ft.) plus lighting and other improvements.
After nearly a year without airline service, Aeroparque reopened to flights on 15Mar21 with four scheduled arrivals; one of Aerolineas Argentinas and three by Jetsmart Argentina:
